Item Description
Radial spray of sharp terminated, transparent, clear to light orange Gypsum crystals emanating off of matrix. The internal more flat line crystals contain more iron oxide inclusions, giving a stronger orange color. The largest isolated Gypsum crystal on the far left extends 3.8 cm up from the matrix and is 1.2 cm wide. The piece is remarkably well preserved, especially given the softness of Gypsum, with only one small nick visible. The geometric form is what makes the piece visually appealing, as well as the orange tinted glow from the crystals when backlit. From the De Natura (Les Presmyk) dealer stock. Overall a great example of the Gypsum from Naica, Mexico.
