Item Description

Fine aesthetics highlight this uncommon combination piece with a very rare species for the locality. The Groutites, whose luster is superb for the species, are in euhedral, blocky crystals about 1 mm in size. The Groutites are concentrated in 'seams' that run across the central planes of the white to clear Calcites. Another amazing example of preferential growth. There is also a dusting of individual Groutite crystals all over the surface of the plate. The Calcite also has an attractive reddish-orange fluorescence. The overall geometry allows the Groutites as a whole to be aesthetic and appreciated. One of the better ones I have seenfrom the Kalahari, ex Charlie Key collection
