Item Description
I think nearly all people would agree that the finest quality crystals of Groutite from North America are those from the Robert Mine, just northeast of Brainerd in Minnesota. I can even go a step further and say a case can be made that these specimens are the finest crystallized Groutites in the world. This piece is a wonderful older specimen, featuring sharp, lustrous, grey-black, bladed crystals measuring up to about 7 mm across sitting on massive manganese-bearing matrix with. The Groutite crystals look beautiful up close, and this is certainly fine quality for the species and the locality.
The specimen comes from the collection of Richard Rossi, with a label from Alabar Minerals.
