Item Description

Here's a great European Alpine "classic". One of the most recognized associations from the Alps are the beautiful red Grossular and very minor green Clinochlore combinations from Italy. This piece features several superb, sharp, lustrous, gemmy reddish-orange color dodecahedral crystals with trapezohedral modifications of Grossular (variety: "Hessonite") with green Clinochlore ("Chlorite"). The largest Hessonite measures up to 5 mm. This is a nice miniature specimen for anyone interested in Italian Alpine mineral specimens. This piece was collected in 1985, from the collection of Richard A. Kosnar.
