Grossular (var: Hessonite)

Item Description

A rarely seen specimen of dark reddish-brown Grossular (var: Hessonite) with several sharp, lustrous, well-formed trapezohedral crystals measuring up to 1.1 cm across on massive Garnet on matrix. There are some contacts here and there, but several of the crystals are in good condition. Very few Hessonites have been found in Pakistan, and unfortunately this one didn't have a more specific locality than Skardu, but this is a really cool esoteric specimen to add to any Garnet suite or a Pakistani mineral collection.
