Item Description
The Jeffrey Mine has produced some of the most distinctive and magnificent quality Garnet crystals extant. The famous orange "Cinnamon" Grossular Garnets from Jeffrey are known for their unique orange color, but this locality has also produced stark green chromium-bearing Grossulars as well. This specimen is features good quality, sharp, lustrous, intense green color, gemmy, striated dodecahedral crystals of Grossular with trapezohedral modificatrions which measure up to 1-2 mm sitting on matrix. Very little damage, and beautiful up close. The piece is valued at $400. This material is no longer being found as the Jeffrey Mine is completely defunct and will not produce these specimens again. Don't miss out on this Canadian classic. Ex Charlie Key personal collection. Charlie is arguably the most sucessful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
