Item Description

Garnet comes in virtually every color of the rainbow, and Grossular is a very diverse species as far as color is concerned. The stone in this set has a unique pastel peach-orange color, and these are some of the best new Grossulars I've seen from any locality. I've seen this material for a few years now and it is very impressive for Grossular both from the standpoint of clarity AND color. This gem is very very slightly included, with an "Oval Brilliant" cut. I think that this is a very underappreciated gem, and this color is not seen very often in Grossular so don't miss out. The interesting aspect of the stone is that the color is quite close to those from the famous Jeffrey Mine in Canada, which is where the specimen is from! Amazing that similarly colored Grossulars are found on opposite sides of the world. The specimen features sharp, lustrous, rather gemmy, dodecahedra with trapezohedral crystals measuring up to 1.2 cm.
