This famous and historic Asbestos quarry has produced some of the finest quality Grossular specimens from any U.S. locality. These are highly sought after among collectors, and are some of the most distinctive Garnets from any locality. When these specimens are at their best, there are few Garnets in the world that can compare with the great quality, size and color. This full sized miniature specimen features several GEM/gemmy lustrous, red-orange, dodecahedral Grossular crystals up to 8 mm nicely scattered on lustrous, gray-green diopside crystal matrix from the famous Eden Mills area of Vermont. Very choice material from this classic locality. Overall the piece is in great shape, and several of the Grossulars are damage free. A great piece of this classic, well-known material.
