Here's an excellent European Alpine classic from the Italian Alps. One of the most recognized associations from the Alps are the beautiful grossular, diopside and clinochlore combinations from Italy. Gemmy, cinnamon-brown, dodecahedral, hessonite garnets to 9 mm and gemmy, mint-green, diopside blades to 1.5 cm are attractively scattered on the undulating surface of books of lustrous, silvery-green clinochlore plates.
