Item Description
An impressive and uncommon cluster of the well-known grossular garnets from Mali. The sharp, slightly modified dodecahedral/trapezohdral crystals are highly lustrous, quite gemmy/translucent and have appealing variable shades of yellow to yellow-green. The striking large crystal is 3.2 cm tall, complete all-around and very nearly pristine. The gemminess and color of these crystals are rare and exceptional for Mali grossulars. The noted bruising/contacting at the base and on the back are certainly acceptable in the context of this excellent specimen. BETTER IN PERSON.
