Item Description

Showy and classic small cabinet combination from well-known Sierra de Cruces, famous for these unique vivid "raspberry-red" grossular garnets and vesuvianite crystals. The sculptural sintered-looking quartz matrix is highlighted by the well-placed on the edge, 1.8 cm, dodecahedral garnet crystal, sections of lustrous yellow-brown vesuvianite crystals, to 2.3 cm and numerous scattered smaller garnets to 1.3 cm. The garnets GLOW, when backlit. A couple of broken garnets reveal the interesting black interiors. Today, they are rare on the market although they were common for a time. Ex Tony Gleckler Collection (specialist in Mexican minerals). We only get these in old collections, any more. They are unique in the world for garnet!
