Item Description

A beautiful and showy association specimen of this classic material. This small cabinet piece features sharp, well-formed, crystals of Grossular measuring up to 2.1 cm across, with a single golden-brown doubly-terminated Vesuvianite flaring off the side. The color of the Grossular crystals is a light golden shade, but areas on the back show an almost purplish hue, which is rare for this material and Garnet in general. Most of the crystals are in fine condition, though there are a few separation marks in spots, so it's not completely undamaged. A good representative specimen of this classic material from more recent discoveries.
Please note that for a long time, these specimens were labeled as coming from "Lake Jaco", which was a misnomer that followed these Grossulars for some time. For reference, there are no Garnets found at Lake Jaco, but they are found within Sierra de Cruces.
