Gemmy and lustrous, reddish-orange, grossular garnet variety hessonites are richly and beautifully mixed with lustrous, sharp and translucent, light mint-green diopside crystals on this excellent, sculptural and classic combination specimen from the famous Ala Valley of Italy. The garnets reach 8 mm. The modest periphery wear has very minimal impact to the pristine quality of the interior crystals.
