Item Description

Densely intergrown, stacked, glassy, transparent to translucent goldenrod-yellow grossular garnet crystals form a showy and rich 360-degree thumbnail from limited 2012 finds in Handan, Hebei, China. The crystals are striated and reach up to about 1.3 cm. The yellow color is highly unusual and distinctive and is very uncommon worldwide. Few enough came out, circa 2010-12. Scattered bruising at the base is out-of-sight in the primary display views. A fine and uncommonly colored Chinese grossular garnet from the Tim Sherburn Collection.
