Grossular Garnet (rare locale)

Item Description

Grossular garnet specimens are quite rare from any of the seven localities in the Banat Mountains, that MINDAT lists. A 1.9 x 1.6 cm, sharp trapezohedron with a nifty gemmy side car is nicely set atop the matrix. The highly lustrous, translucent, honey-yellow crystal has striking, textbook, striated faces, that really accentuate the crystal. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. One side is contacted, but there is no damage, per se. Choice, rare and desirable grossular from this locale. The piece has several fine display views and glows when back lit.
