Item Description
An impressive 5.3 cm section of a large grossular garnet dominates this rich and showy large combination from this extinct Maine quarry, well-known for grossular specimens. The classic for the locale, numerous lustrous cinnamon-brown dodecahedrons are partially translucent. The sculptural matrix is mainly grossular with some quartz and green diopside noted on the back on bottom as accessories. OLD material from the Al Kidwell Collection. Al acquired this rich piece from Gunnar Bjareby in 1946. Classic and excellent Maine grossular.
