Grossular Garnet (large crystal)

Item Description

A fine quality, large, sharp, lustrous, dark brown dodecahedral crystal of Andradite Garnet labeled only as coming from Mali, but almost certainly from the Cercle de Bafoulabe area, Kayes Region, Mali. This crystal is larger than most I've seen from the area, and it's essentially undamaged on the top/display side, but incomplete on the bottom/back. You'd be hard-pressed to find another crystal this size on the market, especially since nothing has made its way out of this locality in years. Valued at $1,200.
