Hessonite is the varietal name sometimes given to orange or red-orange colored Grossular Garnet gemstones. The original Hessonites date back hundreds of years, and were said to bring wealth and success as well as promote longevity to their owners. Here we have a very attractive natural "Cushion" cut rich orange Hessonite from Brazil. The saturation of color is superb and it really sparkles in the light. The stone is only very very slightly included, and considering it's well over 1 carat in weight, it's certainly a collector quality gem. A worthwhile, vibrant Garnet gem for any collector.
