Item Description
The now closed Jeffrey Mine was the source of some of the most iconic and highest quality crystals of Garnet in the world. Many of the orange colored Garnets have been nicknamed "Cinnamon" Grossular due to their gorgeous hue. As I said, the locality is now defunct and will never produce these amazing specimens ever again. This miniature sized specimen hosts many superb quality, very sharp, highly lustrous, GEMMY, rich orange colored (slight pinkish-orange in certain lighting) dodecahedral crystals of Grossular Garnet measuring up to 1.1 cm on matrix. Many of the crystals are in excellent condition, and are nearly 100% WATER CLEAR as you can see straight through them to the underlying matrix. Ex Charlie Key collection. Charlie is arguably the most sucessful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
