Item Description
An impressive large for the locale 5.7 cm crystal dominates this imposing mounded multi-sided small cabinet cluster of intergrown grossular garnet crystals from this California skarn deposit. Grossulars are the signature species from the less well-known locale. The sharp, highly lustrous chocolate-brown crystals have striking streaks of fiery reddish-orange gemminess. The textbook crystals are dodecahedrons with trapezohedral modifications. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. A choice example with very large crystals. A must for the species or locality collector.
