Gemmy and lustrous, cherry-red to reddish-orange, grossular garnet variety hessonite are richly and beautifully mixed with lustrous, green diopside crystals on this excellent and classic combination specimen from the famous Ala Valley of Italy. The beautiful, large dodec garnet is 7 mm. The back has been sawed to enhance the display quality. Ex Dave Bristol Collection # 112 and valued by him a $450 in a large trade.
