Grossular Garnet

Item Description

This is a lovely pale lavender Grossular Garnet cluster from this well known Mexican locality. It's a cluster composed of nearly a dozen Grossulars of varying size from the main crystal at 2.9 cm with the smaller ones at 0.3 to 1 cm. All of them have sharp, textbook dodecahedral form with fantastic luster and a sublime, translucent lavender color. The crystals are complete except for contacting at the bottom where the large one obviously grew on a another Garnet as it left its impression there. A color challenged yet shapely and very nice Grossular cluster from the Kay Robertson collection.
