Item Description

Please note that these specimens for years were labeled as coming from "Lake Jaco". This misnomer persisted for quite some time, but there are no Garnets found at Lake Jaco, they are found within Sierra de Cruces. This piece features a group of sharp, well-formed, semi-lustrous crystals of Grossular without matrix. The color of the crystals is a mixture of golden-brown and greenish-yellow hues. No major damage that I can see, and it's nearly a complete "floater", as it's crystallized all the way around, with only a few tiny points of attachment visible. A good representative specimen of this old classic material from circa 1980s.
