Item Description
The Jeffrey Quarry has produced some of the most distinctive and magnificent quality Garnet crystals extant. These "Cinnamon" Grossulars from Jeffrey are known for their unique orange color, gemminess, top luster and superb "textbook" form. This specimen features a predominant, superb quality, sharp, lustrous, rich orange color, GEM/gemmy, dodecahedral crystal of Grossular measuring 1.3 cm across surrounded by a smaller Grossular crystals of a lighter peach-orange hue, and free of matrix. The main crystal is damage free and looks beautiful up close with saturated color, supreme gemminess / clarity, and a beautiful thin striations on each face. This piece is technically a "toenail", but could easily be trimmed down to a competition worthy thumbnail. This material is no longer being found as the Jeffrey Quarry is completely defunct and will not produce these specimens again. Don't miss out on this Canadian classic. Valued at $2,000 in the inventory.
