Item Description
An uncommon specimen of notably green Grossular from the unlikely locality of the Wah Wah Mountains. Obviously, this region is best known for the gooseberry colored Red Beryl specimens, and honestly, I have only seen a handful of these eye-catching Grossulars over the years. This particular piece is a fiarly good representation featuring a pair of sharp dodecahedra with sharp faces and slight translucency on matrix. The largest crystal measures 1.3 cm, but it is contacted in the center. A great chance for a Garnet collector to pick up a nice display piece of this hard to find material from Utah. Really cool for a U.S. Garnet, and they are seldom seen on the market in any capacity. From what I understand, the region that produced these specimens has dried up, so don 't pass this one up. From the collection of John Sippel.
