Grossular (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

A hard to find specimen of Grossular from this noted metamorphic locality on the west side of Lookout Mountain in Jefferson County, Colorado. This piece was personally collected by Brian Kosnar in 1993. It features a robust, lustrous, sharp, well-formed, orange-red color dodecahedron of Grossular measuring 2.7 cm with additional Grossulars and white-grey Calcite and greenish Vesuvianite. Hard to find on the market, and the locality has been completely closed off the collectors since 2010. A great chance for a Garnet collector or a U.S. minerals collector to pick up this good sized specimen from a hard to find locale.
