Grossular (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

A very cool, and unusual Grossular from an Alpine "cleft" deposit in Pakistan. The dodecahedral crystals have sharp faces with great luster and the piece is fully crystallized on the back as well. The crystals are certainly a different color from any Grossular I'm used to seeing from Pakistan, or virtually anywhere else in the world, as they have a soft somewhat silvery-gold appearance. The piece truly must be seen in perosn. A great "Alpine-type" Grossular specimen for any garnet collector. The largest crystal measures 1.2 cm across.
