Item Description

A classic specimen of the now relatively hard to find Grossulars from the Bishop area in California. In the center of the crystallized vug is a predominant, 1.1 cm, very sharp, rather lustrous, beautiful reddish color modified dodecahedral/trapezohedral crystal of Grossular that is essentially damage free and slightly elevated above the rest of the surrounding Grossular crystals. The center crystal is also notably richer in color, and has better form, and very little "crazing" as opposed to the other crystals. It's a very good quality piece of the material, and one of the few I've seen where one crystal is a step above the rest of the crystals on the same specimen. If you're a Garnet collector, or a California collector, do not miss out on this interesting and eye-catching cabinet size display specimen.
