Grossular

Item Description

A fine, sharp, near complete reddish-brown dodecahedral crystal of Grossular from the supposed locality at Dionboko. The dealer label accompanying the piece states that it's from Dionboko, but recent information suggest that this is an erroneous locality, and these crystals are probably from Koukouri, near Trantimou. The piece is in great shape overall, with only a couple tiny nicks and a small spot on the bottom / back where it was removed from the pocket wall. A nice solitary garnet crystal from Mali to add to a thumbnail collection.
