Grossular

Item Description

A classic and hard to find matrix specimen of Grossular from the Vilyui River locality which is best known for Wiluite specimens for which this is the type locality. This attractive thumbnail specimen features a sharp, distinct, brownish-black dodecahedral crystal of Grossular measuring 1.2 cm on host rock matrix. The crystal is not 100% perfect, but it does have lustrous smooth faces, and is one of the best examples of the darker brown-black pieces I've seen from this locality.
