Item Description
A wonderfully MULTI-TERMINATED "floater" crystal of gemmy green Spodumene from Afghanistan. The main termination features a broad "stepped" almost "mountain"-like shape, while the other end features dozens of narrow pointed terminations, a result of hydrothermal etching, creating a stark contrast in form and texture between both ends of the specimen. The prism faces feature attractive pronounced striations with a gorgeous reflective luster. The thicker portion of the crystal is 100% WATER CLEAR and JUICY, that glows with color when backlit. There are few places in the world that produce such attractive gem quality examples of Spodumene like this, and they are certainly a must have for any collector of gem crystals or pegmatite minerals. Specimen weight is 256 grams. Often the value of these crystals lies in the gem world, where they are priced by the gram, and I've seen pieces similar to this selling in the at $25 / gram, so that would put this one at $6,400 retail the gem world.
