Green Sphalerite on Prehnite (rare combo) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

A very rarely seen example of a 9 mm gemmy green Sphalerite on Prehnite from the Diabase quarry at Hartenrod. This is one of the best matrix pieces of this material that we've had to offer in the auctions. It's not terribly common to find gemmy Sphalerite in a quarry like this, especially with this color. The piece is essentially a reference specimen as the Sphalerite is not completely crystallized, but the wonderful green color and above average gemminess against the Prehnite make it an interesting curiosity specimen for any collector of sulfides or German minerals.
