Item Description
A spectacular, large, 3-dimensional specimen of stacked cubic halite crystals to 3.0 cm from Poland that have this amazingly pretty sea-green color from inclusions of malachite the halites picked up as they grew! There are about six, intergrown stacks of halite cubes on the matrix plate of smaller halite cubes. You would swear this is a specimen of green fluorite from some new locality, unless you were to lick it an realize that it is SALT (but do not lick it - natural halite specimens can harbor bacteria). The lustrous, waxy/glassy crystals are translucent. Ex Dave Stoudt Collection. Dave lived and worked in Poland as a petroleum geologist. His label (# 700) indicates that he purchased this striking piece at the Warsaw MIneral Show in November, 2000. SUPER pink fluorescence!
