Item Description

An impressive, sculptural, large specimen of sharp fluorite octahedrons from the recent, very highly touted finds at Riemvasmaak, South Africa (trickling out from about 2006-on, and recently winding down). This piece is RARE, in that, there is a layer of darker purple fluorite underneath the gorgeous grass-green octos. All of the many gemmy and lustrous octos, to 3.0 cm, on this concave plate have the rich grass-green color, unique to this locale. The color is INTENSE, deep green, very nice! Mark my words, these are contemporary classics. SOMEDAY, we will look back on these the way we do now for Illinois fluorites of 20-30 years ago, and wonder why they were so darned cheap, mark my words. This outstanding large plate is essentially pristine and comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base (valued at $125), for free. The underlying purple really adds character to the green octos. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!! Valued at $2000-2500.
