Item Description

This mine is renowned for it's superb pink Rhodochrosite specimens which are sometimes associated with green Fluorite. Typically the fluorites from the Sunnyside mine are octahedral in habit, but this mound of pale green Fluorite is mostly cubic in habit with minor dodecahedral and tetrahexahedral modification. Overall, the piece is in good condition and is actually crytallized on the underside, making it a near "floater" piece. Some of the most classic and HIGHLY sought after Fluorites in all of the U.S. came from the historic Sunnyside mine in San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. An attractive and worthwhile specimen from the Colorado collection of Brian Kosnar.
