Item Description

Luscious, mint-green, rounded fluorite cuboctahedrons and smaller octahedrons form a showy two-sided knob from the well-known California fluorite locality, the Felix Mine. The lustrous, translucent crystals have stepped-growth and frosted faces. The piece is in great shape, overall, with the noted periphery wear on either end certainly being a modest detraction. Excellent purple fluorescence. This is older, now rare, highly representative, classic material. Now impossible to find, nearly, the locale being in urban LA's sprawl. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and acquired in 1987 at the Boron Show.
