Item Description
A beautiful and uncommon bi-colored Beryl crystal is from a find in early 1970s at Padre Paraiso. The piece is an excellent, classic, very sharp, well-formed, lustrous, gemmy light green colored hexagonal prism, but what makes it stand out is that it has a lovely soft blue colored Aquamarine "cap". I'm sure you've heard of "blue cap" Tourmalines, so this is a "blue cap" Beryl. There are some pyramidal modifications on the termination, giving the piece a bit more character as opposed to if it had a simple flat basal termination. These are very hard to find on the market, especially in this quality, as there is no damage that I can find, other than the base where the piece was removed from the pocket. A very attractive and certainly distinctive Beryl for any fan of gem crystals, pegmatite minerals or specimens from Brazil. Specimen weight is 13.80 grams. Ex Brian Kosnar specimen, valued $1,200-$1,500.
