Item Description

A rarely seen matrix specimen of the highly sought after and desirable lead arsenic sulfosalt, Gratonite, which was named for Louis Caryl Graton (1880-1970), Professor of Mining Geology, Harvard University. This piece is from the most famous discovery and type locality for the species, Cerro de Pasco, Peru. This piece is filled with sharp, well-formed, semi-lustrous, metallic, lead-grey colored trigonal crystals up to 2 mm on matrix.
