Item Description
A very rare and wonderfully well-crystallized of soft blue-grey colored Tremolite, which according to the label is from "Piz Compolungo", but I can't find a listing that states Tremolite is found at this locality. The label refers to the material as "Grammatite" which is a synonym for Tremolite, and often the Alpine material was labeled as "Grammatite". This piece is filled with fine quality, sharp, well-formed, prismatic crystals and "sprays", and doubly-terminated crystals, the largest measuring up to 2.6 long. Excellent quality and VERY rare on the market. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11278). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
