Item Description

Graftonite is a rare iron-manganese-calcium phosphate that seldom crystallizes in euhedral crystals. This classic combo features laminar, lustrous, reddish-brown graftonite epitaxial with laminar, cornflower-blue triphylite, an uncommon lithium-iron phosphate in a quartz pegmatite matrix. Bob Whitmore regarded graftonite specimens very highly in his collection, which we obtained, and this fine two-sided combo from this classic locale probably dates from the early 1970s. Rare!
