Item Description

A really attractive and hard to find phosphate specimen from the famed Rapid Creek locality in the far northern part of the Yukon of Canada. This piece features a coverage of milky, sharp, well-formed, pseudo-cubic (trigonal) crystals of the uncommon strontium aluminum phosphate species, Goyazite measuring up to 5 mm, sitting on matrix. Additionally there are staple species from Rapid Creek present on the piece, i.e., brown Siderite and rich blue Lazulite. Goyazite is not often seen in display quality specimen with eye-visible crystals like this, so if you collect rarities, this is something that you don't see on the market very often, and it's from one of the most well-known localities in Canada.
