Item Description
The Pingwu Mine is world-famous as producing some truly unique, eye-catching and singular display specimens from any mine in China. Some of the most distinctive crystallized specimens of Beryl in the world have come from this mine. This piece features a beautiful, sharp, highly lustrous, GEM QUALITY, tabular colorless Beryl (Goshenite) measuring 2.6 cm sitting aesthetically on bladed silvery Muscovite. The quality is VERY good and it's in great condition all the way around. I cannot find any damage on the Goshenite anywhere. A fine specimen of this contemporary classic material. Valued at $950. From the worldwide collection of David Burgess (1951-2016). David was a prolific species collector from Newington, Connecticut, and the namesake for the extremely rare cobalt arsenate species Burgessite, which he discovered.
