Goshenite Beryl on Cleavelandite, Quartz, Muscovite

A strange specimen that looks at first like it is made up of only clear quartz, shows more and more crystals and shapes as you look closely, on this goshenite matrix specimen. Goshenite is the totally colorless variety of beryl, and is actually quite rare in the world. Even many so called goshenites are simply pale pink or pale blue, not truly colorless. This specimen, however, hosts multiple crystals of different crystal habits, all without color. They look like morganite with no color. The fancy shaped crystal with a sharp, pointed termination is a goshenite beryl approximately 3 x 3 x 3 cm, and of strange shape! Next to it, are adjacent crystals to 5 cm of more regularly shaped hexagonal beryl; and they are all perched or nestled in matrix of snowy white cleavelandite. Subtle associations with glossy golden muscovite, dark greenish tourmaline, and a fine gem quartz point atop, make this piece really interesting in terms of combinations and contrasts.
