Gordaite is a rare complex hydrated Na-Zn chloro sulfate approved only in 1996. This mine is the Type Locality. Glassy, pearlescent flakes of white gordaite and contrasting dark green herbertsmithite crystals, a rare Cu-Zn halide richly invest both sides of the vuggy miniature matrix on this very rich and showy combination example of the rarities.
