Item Description

Golden Beryl is not a terribly common member of the Beryl family, especially in fine gems. Sometimes this material is referred to as Heliodor, which can range from a greenish-yellow to a yellow-orange hue. The actual name Heliodor comes from the Greek "Gift from the Sun", in allusion to its yellow color. Its name was coined in the early 20th century, when significant deposits of this form of Beryl were discovered which led to more gem material being available on the market. This "Oval" cut stone shows a lovely golden color and is nearly eye clean. This particular gem is very good quality for the material, and from what I was told, is not heated whatsoever. The stone was faceted from a piece of rough that came out circa 1974 which was brought back by Richard Kosnar.
