Item Description

The Sherman Mine, just east of Leadville and below the Continental Divide, is famous for its golden barite and this is a showy and very rich example. Glassy, gemmy to translucent, golden-yellow prisms to 9 mm cover cover both sides of the rib. The "B" side has much smaller crystals. Expertly collected, this fine piece is essentially pristine. Ex George Fisher Collection, a noted Colorado specialist.
