Item Description
The Sherman Tunnel, near Leadville, is famous for its golden barite and this is a showy and very rich example. Glassy, gemmy to translucent, golden-yellow prisms to 1.5 cm nearly cover the matrix plate. The large crystal at the tip is color-zoned and striking. Expertly collected, this fine piece is essentially pristine. Ex George Fisher Collection, a noted Colorado specialist.
