Gold specimens from Leadville are not common on the market, and typically are snatched up immediately by collectors when they are made available. Recently, a local digger discovered a small amount of crytallized Gold specimens on the dumps of the Little Johnnie Mine, and this piece is one of said specimens. The piece features a beautiful, metallic, brightly colored groups of Gold, but the most important aspect is that this piece shows the rare and highly sought after wire habit that is rarely seen in Gold from any locality. We have photographed the Gold under high magnificatgion to better show the detail. A great little Gold specimen from this historic and classic Colorado locality.
