Item Description

Gold specimens from Leadville are not common on the market, and typically are snatched up immediately by collectors when they are made available. Recently, a local digger discovered a small amount of crytallized Gold specimens on the dumps of the Little Johnnie Mine, and this piece is one of said specimens. The piece features a beautiful, metallic, brightly colored "leafs" of Gold which are intergrown to form a unique and unsual, hollow "lattice"-like formation. I have seen many Golds from Leadville over the years, and this one really stands out because of the unusual form. The piece is actually crystallized!, and I have photographed the Gold under the microscope to better show the detail. A great Gold specimen from this historic and classic Colorado locality.
