Gold (rare locality specimen)

Item Description

A beautiful and hard to find matrix display specimen of Gold from the Los Delirios Claim in northeastern Santander Department, Colombia. Most Colombian Gold specimens you'll find are loose, off matrix, and pieces like this a few and far between. This beautiful miniature specimen hosts attractive bright golden metallic crystallized groups comprising sharp, bladed / lamellar formations, which look as though they are "Spinel"-twins, along with octahedral faces sitting upon a matrix composed of Quartz and Sphalerite. Upon close inspection, the Gold crystals are very beautiful, with intricate forms all over. The largest group measures 2.3 cm across. Beautiful and showy, and hard to find on the market. If you collect Gold or native elements, this is about as good as anything as we've had to offer in the auctions in terms of quality, color and aesthetics. The specimen was mined circa 2017-2018.
